Heaton parking scheme plans revealed - but what will this mean for residents?
 

Business owners and residents have slammed council proposals to introduce permit parking and place double-yellow lines on back lanes in an area of Heaton - questioning why they should pay to park outside their own homes.
Newcastle City Council has proposed that the back lanes around the Warwick Street area be painted with double-yellow lines so that bin lorries are able to drive around without being blocked by “inconsiderately parked vehicles”.
