‘He’s a broken man’– shock as restaurant boss begins life in jail



People in Metheringham have expressed shock after two restaurant owners were jailed in disgrace for tax fraud.
Turon Miah, a former parish councillor, and his brother Sufi Miah, who ran the Mowgli Indian Restaurant in Metheringham, massively under-declared their cash takings in VAT returns submitted to HMRC.
As a result, they defrauded the taxpayer of more than £60,000.
But people in Metheringham have been left shocked by the news - and say the venue was very popular.
