Happy 95th birthday to Newcastle United's oldest surviving player Ivor Broadis
 

We extend the warmest birthday greetings to Ivor Broadis.
At 95, the former Newcastle United inside-forward is the club’s oldest surviving player.
Born on the Isle of Dogs, London, on this day in 1922, Broadis had successfully plied his trade at Carlisle United, Sunderland and Manchester City, before arriving at St James’ Park for a fee of £20,000 in the summer of 1953.
A veteran of World War II, Broadis made an instant impact on Gallowgate, scoring twice and setting up another goal on his home debut.
