Hanging by a thread: Dramatic photo shows bus teetering on edge of Jedburgh river
 

A METAL barrier has saved a coach of people from plunging into a river after it crashed in the Scottish Borders.
Police were called to the scene at around 9:40am after the Peter Hogg coach left the A68 road in Jedburgh and narrowly escaped falling into the Jed Water.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the vehicle striking several walls before crashing into the parapet of the Duck Row Bridge.
A number of passengers were checked over by paramedics at the scene but escaped serious injury.
The accident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive.
