Gunman shot teenage boy in the head in Sunderland attack police confirm
 

The 15-year-old boy critically injured in a Sunderland gun attack was shot in the head, police have now revealed.
Northumbria Police say the teenager was riding as a passenger on a motorbike in Hewitt Avenue when he was shot in the head at 8.40pm on Wednesday night.
He was taken to Newcastle’s RVI hospital where his condition is described as critical.
Police do not yet know if the weapon was a gun or air gun and officers are still trying to find the firearm. The person in charge of the motorbike was not harmed.
