Group accused of £500k car number plates scam
 

A group of men and a woman have appeared in court in Birmingham accused of taking part in a £500,000 car number plate scam.
The six men and one woman are accused of running a con in which the rights to high-value number plates were stolen and offered for sale – some for more than £100,000.
The court heard how all were involved in a conspiracy to steal vehicle registration number plates and sell them without the genuine owners’ knowledge.
They all appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
