Grimsby Town 0-1 Leicester City U-23s FULL TIME: Record low crowd watches EFL Trophy defeat



A TINY crowd of 609 – a new record low for a Grimsby Town cup game – watched centre-back Shaun Pearson play in goal for 74 minutes as the ten-man Mariners lost 1-0 against Leicester City's Under-23s.
The controversial EFL Trophy sunk to new depths tonight with fans making their disapproval of the competition clear by their non-attendance.
But those few who were at Blundell Park at least saw some 'entertainment' as Paul Hurst's men paid the price for having no goalkeeper on the bench.
