Greenshanks arrive for winter as Great Orme scores a first
 

I spent a relaxing couple of hours wader-watching at Morfa Madryn Local Nature Reserve near Llanfairfechan on Sunday.
It was a treat to see half a dozen Greenshanks, long-legged shorebirds that will spend the winter here; another nine were on the Glaslyn estuary, where a long-staying Marsh Harrier remains.
Curlew Sandpipers were at Morfa Madryn, the Alaw estuary and Dulas Bay over the weekend, but wader migration is petering out as we head into October.
