Greens call for delay on artificial football pitches over health fears
 

Liverpool Green party are calling for a halt on any new 3G football pitches across the city until new research on their safety is released.
Their calls follow the approval by council planning chiefs for two new football “hubs” in the city as part of a £17m deal with the FA to boost the grassroots game.
But fears have been raised by opponents that the pitches may pose a health risk to players using them.
