Great Escape camp veteran to join guests for sod-cutting ceremony at Bomber Command memorial



A Second World War veteran who was held in the German prison camp immortalised in 'The Great Escape' will be among the guests to break the ground for the next phase of Lincoln's International Bomber Command Centre.
Retired Air Commodore Charles Clarke OBE is attending the private ceremony on Monday, October 3, to signal the start of work on the £3.8m Chadwick Centre which will host exhibitions, community and education programmes and a digital archive.
