Great British Bake Off concludes with Derby's Andrew Smyth crowned Star Baker
 

Andrew Smyth delighted the nation on Wednesday night by scooping the "star baker" accolade on BBC1's Great British Bake Off.
The 25-year-old Rolls-Royce engineer, from Chellaston, wowed judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with his showstopper challenge of 24 mini mousse cakes.
Earlier in the show, he has done a "pretty good job" on his roulade and come first in the technical challenge - which was an intricate Marjolaine creation involving meringue, hazelnuts and butter cream.
