Government ignores concerns over using hard shoulder lane on motorways to ease congestion
 

The House of Commons Transport Committee has condemned the government for “blatantly ignoring” its concerns over motorway safety on all-lane-running motorways, which use existing hard shoulders for traffic in order to ease congestion. 
The Select Committee has issued a statement that says that it takes “real issue” with the government’s insistence that all-lane running on motorways is just like any other road.
