FOR the first ten months of his Celtic career time quite literally stood still for Gordon Strachan. One nightmarish visit to Slovakia made sure of it.
That 5-0 Champions League thrashing away to Artmedia Bratislava in the summer of 2005 remains to this day Strachan’s single most harrowing moment in management. A night so bad that, famously, it even broke the cogs inside his favourite Cartier watch.
