Good riddance to this toxic Russian bank: Moscow-backed lender threatens to quit UK after Brexit

A scandal-hit Russian bank has threatened to pull hundreds of staff from the UK following Brexit – prompting a fierce response from campaigners who claim the City will survive without it.
VTB bank, which is propped up by Vladimir Putin's Moscow regime, has said it may move staff to other European cities, such as Frankfurt, Paris or Vienna. 
Pro-EU campaigners seized on VTB's plans as evidence that investment in London was at risk. 
But last night the stunt appeared to have backfired as it prompted a fightback from the City, with some experts pointing to the bank's tainted reputation.
