Going, going, gone - demolition of Newgate Centre gives never-seen-before views

As the last remaining sections of Newcastle’s Newgate Centre are knocked down, dozens of people stopped by to take a peek at never-seen-before views of the site.
The demolition of the 1960s shopping centre is nearing its final stage and passers-by got a change to see the area from a completely new perspective.
The empty space lets spectators see through to where the large hotel and shopping centre once sat.
Jane Crawford, 66, from Denton Burn, has lived in Newcastle her whole life and said she was sad to see the old building being taken down.
