Knife thugs who pose with blades on social media or film their crimes could face tougher jail terms.
Yobs who wear masks and balaclavas while threatening victims may also see extended stints behind bars.
The plans come after a spate of knifepoint robberies on Merseyside and as an increasing number of local criminals are posing for gloating snaps with deadly weapons.
The stricter sentences are being considered as part of plans to punish criminals for “aggravating factors” in knife crime.
