Girls soon at home at Nottingham High School
 

A year after one of the biggest shake-ups in its distinguished 503-year history, the message from Nottingham High School is: we took it in our stride.
Speaking a year after the first girls were admitted to what had been a boys-only institution since the 16th century, headmaster Kevin Fear says of the last 12 months: "It all felt very normal very quickly."
Fifty female sixth-formers and infants were welcomed in 2015 and this autumn's broader intake brings the number of girls to 140 on a school roll of 1,015.
