Giant chicken factory in Nottinghamshire could still go ahead after company appeals
 

Villagers say they are "disappointed" that plans for a giant chicken factory near their homes could still get the go-ahead - despite being rejected earlier in the year.
The development would consist of six poultry buildings - each roughly the size of a football pitch with room for 41,000 birds in each at a time - and a boiler unit and offices.
Locals living near the proposed scheme, on land off Alverton Road in Staunton In The Vale, south of Newark, campaigned against the plans in the spring, citing smells, increased traffic and impact on the environment as concerns.
