An escape to the sun is lasting a little too long for two pals who have found themselves stranded in Corfu.
Gene Booth, 47, and Kev Skelton, 52, both of North Shields, had hoped to enjoying a relaxing two weeks on the island resort, before heading back to work this Monday.
But the stress-relieving trip became a new source of headaches when Gene woke up to an email announcing their flight had been cancelled, just a day before they were due to leave.
The flight was cancelled as Greek airline workers went out on strike.
