Geoffrey Boycott FURIOUS on Test Match Special after Jonathan Agnew plays on-air prank
 

Agnew and the rest of the Test Match Special team, who broadcast cricket around the world on BBC radio, put together an erroneous press release to play a prank on the unsuspecting Boycott.
The statement said that the Rest of the World’s tour of England in 1970, which was put together to fill the void of the cancelled South Africa tour, had been downgraded from a first-class match.
“It’s a load of tripe. That’s silly,” Boycott said.
“First-class umpires, first-class players, some of the best players in the world were playing.
“That Rest of the World team was a fantastic team.”
