Gateshead woman reaches final of Miss Transgender UK

A budding beauty queen is hoping to catapult LGBT issues into the mainstream after reaching the final of a prestigious pageant.
Jocelyn Yendall, from Low Fell in Gateshead, took part in the regional heats for Miss Transgender UK last weekend and has secured a place in the final after coming runner up.
However Jossy, who was born Craig Anderson, said she believes the contest is more than just a beauty pageant and hopes her openness can help to put trans issues into the mainstream.
