Gateshead side's clash abandoned due to masked pitch invaders to be referred to FA



Two North East Football Associations say they have dealt with two players sent off during a football match which was abandoned after weapon-wielding thugs arrived.
A Gateshead player shown the red card in a match halted by weapon-wielding thugs will face disciplinary action.
Durham County Football Association has said a player for Wrekenton Blue Star, dismissed during the side’s clash with Thornaby Village on Sunday, will be dealt with as normal but the abandoned game will be referred to the Football Association.
The game, played at Teesdale Park on Acklam Road, was abandoned at half time.... read more
