Future of grade-II listed former St Gabriel's convent gutted by fire hangs in balance today



The future of a Grade-II listed former convent building in Woolton destroyed is unclear today.
A council report says the building is structurally safe however fire crews said they would not be returning to the building after carrying out their own risk assessment.
Firefighters were called to St Gabriel’s on Beaconsfield Road, which once housed a convent and children’s home, at around 6:30am yesterday and where there for around eight hours.
