Furness teen's Horse of the Year Show success



Ellie Kirkbride, of Dalton, was awarded a sixth place at Horse of the Year Show yesterday.
The 14-year-old Ulverston Victoria High School student rode Hopgarden Playboy at HOYS, which was held at the NEC in Birmingham.
The pair competed in the Coloured Ridden Non-Native Pony of the Year class, which was sponsored by CHAPS (UK).
They qualified for the prestigious event by winning at the Royal Highland Show this summer.
Ellie rides the four-year-old pony for his owner Rebecca McColl. The pony is produced by Emma Boardman.
