Funeral for former Scunthorpe United legend Merfyn White - pictures



The funeral took place earlier today (October 19) at Woodlands Crematorium of former Scunthorpe United FC left winger Merfyn Jones.
Mr Jones, who was born in Bangor, Wales, died aged 85 on October 4 in a Bristol nursing home.,
He played 263 games for The Iron between 1953 and 1959 and was a major force in the 1957-58 Third Division North championship-winning side
The Welsh winger, who was nicknamed Merve the Swerve scored 33 goals including three against Portsmouth in the 1953-54 FA Cup in a first replay at Fratton Park.
