With winter right around the corner, it's time to start compiling a list of cosy retreats.
And one couple from New York already have the ideal place to escape the brutal cold, thanks to a snug log cabin at the bottom of the garden at their holiday home.
Jason and Suzanne Koxvold commissioned Studio Padron to design a 200-square-foot guesthouse-cum-library on their Ellenville property.
The tiny shelter is warm and cosy thanks to the dark cedar cladding, a cast iron stove and the built-in bookshelves lining the walls.
