Frankie Dettori can mark magic with Shalaa in the John Guest Bengough Stakes at Ascot 

Frankie Dettori has been handed the big chance of an Ascot winner close to the 20th anniversary of his Magnificent Seven at the track with the return of top sprinter Shalaa on Saturday.
The John Gosden-trained colt, winner of the Middle Park Stakes and Prix Morny in 2015, has been sidelined all season because of a pelvic stress fracture.
Shalaa, owned by Dettori’s boss Sheik Joaan Al Thani, has been entered in the Group Three John Guest Bengough Stakes. He is expected to return to Ascot two weeks later for the Group One Champions Sprint.
