Former West Bromwich Albion striker leaps five levels to make Torquay United debut

FORMER West Bromwich Albion youngster Joel Ambalu has been backed to earn a contract with Torquay United by the manager of his parent club, Heather St Johns.
The Congolese striker netted six goals in eight games for Heather earning him a two-week trial at Plainmoor.
The 21-year-old was fast-tracked into the first team made a substitute appearance in the 72nd minute during the Gulls' 1-0 National League defeat at Chester.
