A footballer who plays for a side dubbed as the ‘worst team in Britain’ has been given the opportunity to earn a professional deal at a top academy in the USA.
Colin Barr, 22, who plays for Laurieston Lions, has been offered a trial at Chivas USA in Florida, despite being part of the Lions side who were humiliated in a 37-0 defeat.
The Lions’ loss to Pennies FC is believed to be the heaviest defeat in Scottish football, having surpassed the previous 36-0 victory for Arbroath against Bon Accord in the Scottish Cup.
