Flooding causing serious problems for drivers on A50



Drivers are being warned to take extra care while driving along the A50 after parts of the road have been flooded.
The heavy downpours today have caused a man hole cover to be pushed onto the road, which has resulted in standing water on the eastbound side of the dual carriageway, between Normacot and the Meir Tunnel.
Traffic has been at a standstill and congestion is building back towards Fenton.
Police officers are on scene, as the water on the road is causing drivers to make emergency stops. Traffic problems are expected to last for at least another hour.
