Flood alerts issued for south Cumbria coast for high tide

The alerts - for the coast at Barrow, north Morecambe Bay and the Duddon Estuary, are in force for tonight's high tide between 12.15am and 12.45am.
Tidal spray and onshore flooding may occur to roads and some properties along the coast may be affected.
People are being warned to stay away from the coast, and Environment Agency officers are checking defences and monitoring sea levels and wind directions.
High water can be expected for two hours before and after the high tide peak.
The Environment Agency's amber 'flood alert' advises communities to be prepared as flooding is possible.
