Flintshire rapist Sultan Amari who fled country was 'not considered a flight risk'
 

A convicted Flintshire rapist from Syria who fled to Turkey midway through his trial was not considered a flight risk, the Crown Prosecution Service has revealed.
Sultan Amari, 46, of Chester Road in Flint, had been on bail since he was charged with two counts of rape last year, and on Sunday night (September 25) he boarded a plane to Istanbul when he was due to continue giving evidence the next morning.
Instead, he emailed Warrington Crown Court indicating he had no intention of returning.
