Five people injured in three vehicle crash in County Durham

Five people were taken to hospital after three vehicles collided on a busy road in County Durham .
The crash happened on the A19 southbound between the A182 Cold Hesledon and the A182 Easington at around 7pm on Saturday.
The North East Ambulance Service said three people were “walking wounded” and another two people were injured in the collision.
All five people were taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
The extent of their injuries are not known at this stage.
Durham Constabulary closed the road and motorists were warned they would face major delays.
