Five arrested in connection with alleged Barrow street attack bailed by police



Cavendish Street in Barrow was closed yesterday morning between the junctions with Dalkeith Street and Duke Street after a serious assault in the early hours at around 1.40am.
Police manned the road closure to prevent bystanders from interfering with any potential evidence.
On the road, two spilled takeaway boxes and what appeared to be blood were close to the junction with Duke Street.
A 22-year-old man from Barrow was taken to Furness General Hospital with serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. He remains in hospital this morning but detectives said he is expected... read more
