Firefighters rescue dog stranded in pond for two hours
 

Firefighters have rescued a dog after it became stranded in the middle of a Wirral pond for two hours.
Lucy, a two-year-old spaniel rescued from Cyprus, became stuck while out walking with owner Helen Lambert in a Bebington Park.
The dog , which only came to live in the UK in February, fell into the pond and swam to an island in the middle - eventually becoming stranded.
Despite her owner calling, Lucy could not be tempted back into the water, prompting owner Helen to call Merseyside Fire and Rescue for help.
