Severn Trent will hold two public drop-in sessions next week about its £60m sewer improvement plans to protect 400 properties from flooding in Newark.
The water company said it is doing the work because Newark's "increasingly expanding" population is putting an increased risk of interruptions to customer's water supply.
The three-year project will see more than 20 km of ageing water and sewer pipes replaced across Newark, including a 2.8m diameter tunnel travelling beneath Newark's streets.
