Fiancée of footballer who died on pitch left struggling to pay £60,000 mortgage
 

The widowed fiancée of a footballer who died after collapsing during a game has been left struggling to pay the couple’s mortgage, after his life insurance was refused.
Laura Davies discovered the news after receiving a telephone call from one of her partner, Mitchell Joseph’s, close friends last week.
The 33-year-old full-back with St Joseph’s AFC, collapsed approximately 30 minutes into the side’s game against Maltsters Sports on January 13.
He was treated at the scene, then rushed to Morriston Hospital, where doctors spent two hours trying in vain to revive him.
