The Ferrari mechanic who suffered a double leg fracture after being struck by Kimi Raikkonen's car during the Bahrain Grand Prix has undergone surgery in hospital.
Francesco Cigarini posted an Instagram picture from his bed at the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital showing his leg in a cast but giving the thumbs up.
He wrote: 'Surgery ok. I have to thanks all the people worried for me. Nothing else, just a big thanks. Hugs!'
