Ferensway roadworks to cause problems for traffic and trade right up to Christmas



THE Ferensway roadworks causing crippling delays in Hull are set to deliver a blow to Christmas trade in the city centre, traders and transport bosses have predicted.
Hull City Council has announced that emergency funding will be pumped into the works, and engineers would work overtime - but only to ensure the roadworks can be removed on schedule by December 16, at the peak of the city's Christmas trading.
Councillor Martin Mancey, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "It is obviously crucial to get the Ferensway crossing completed on schedule.
