Female chess players could boycott world championships after being told to wear hijabs
 

The queens of chess are threatening to boycott the world championships in Iran because they have been told to wear hijabs.
But if the Grandmasters don’t cover up during the knock-out tournament next year, they could face jail, reports The Telegraph.
The World Chess Federation, also known as Fide, has been criticised by participants for not standing up for the women’s rights.
US champion Nazi Paikidze told the newspaper it is ‘absolutely unacceptable’ to host a tournament in a place where women are made to wear the headscarf.
