Fears Hurricane Matthew death toll may have surpassed 1,000
 

The death toll continued to rise yesterday, with almost 900 people believed dead in Haiti and 16 in the US.
A cholera outbreak on the Caribbean island has triggered fears more could die, as rescue teams struggle to reach remote areas.
A spokeswoman for the British Red Cross said the death toll was expected to rise.
She said: “There are still areas that have not been reached yet. That’s why it is so difficult to tell.
