Fatwa composer AR Rahman ‘meant no offence'
 

Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has said that he did not intend to offend anyone when he composed the music for an Iranian film on the prophet Muhammad.
Mr Rahman, who is very popular in India, was responding to a religious edict, or “fatwa”, by a Muslim organisation against him and the Iranian director of the film, Majid Majidi.
The big-budget film, Muhammad: The Messenger of God, was released in Iran earlier this year and at the Montreal World Film Festival last month.
