Father who lost four limbs due to flesh-eating bug completes gruelling 120-mile challenge through Arctic Circle
 

A father who lost all four limbs when his cold developed into a flesh-eating bug has successfully paddled a gruelling 120 miles through the Arctic Circle for charity.
Alex Lewis, 36, braved the Arctic expedition despite having to have his arms and legs amputated after contracting septicaemia and toxic shock syndrome.
The amputee paddled up to 20 miles a day through freezing iceberg-infested waters with a team of injured ex-servicemen from military charity Pilgrim Bandits.
