Farmer defends his 2,000 pig farm plan - despite 7,500 objections



The farmer behind controversial plans for a pig farm for up to 2,000 animals has defended his development after thousands of objections.
More than 7,500 people objected to the site at Upton near Gainsborough – with concerns raised about the smell, pollution of waterways and the rights of the animals.
Animal rights campaigners got behind a bid to oppose the scheme, but it has been approved by West Lindsey District Council planners.
