Farewell to the 'creative rock' who helped make Skinningrove's bonfire roar
 

Tributes have been paid to one of the stalwarts who made Skinningrove’s famous bonfire roar.
Since the very first organised bonfire in the early 1980s, which was held as part of a village arts project, Richard Baker had been one of the free event’s guiding lights.
But this year’s bonfire will be tinged with sadness after Richard’s death, aged 66, at his home in Whitby .
Over the years, the bonfire’s popularity has soared, with thousands flocking to see the themed display - this year’s theme is the alum industry.
