Fare-dodging barrister sacked from profession for £19,000 scam
 

A barrister has been sacked from his profession after being caught out as one of the country’s most prolific rail-fare dodgers.
For two and a half years, Dr Peter Barnett thought he was getting the better of the system.
He commuted 40 miles into London from Haddenham and Thame Parkway every day, but didn’t buy a season ticket – currently costing £19.80 each way.
Man in court for self-scanning carrots instead of apples at Tesco Instead, he would touch out at Marylebone with his Oyster card, costing him the maximum TfL fare, currently £7.60.
