The family of a Liverpool FC fan killed by a single punch from his best friend say his jail sentence has “added to their grief”.
Richard Eveleigh, 63, was jailed for 28 months at Liverpool Crown Court today after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of Paul Lightowler – his friend of 45 years.
The pair had been watching the Reds Europa League cup final defeat to Sevilla on May 18 when a “silly row” ended with Mr Lightowler suffering devastating head injuries.
