Families still can’t return home a year after St Albans sinkhole



It’s been a year since a 33ft deep sinkhole opened up in St Albans but four families living nearby still can’t return home.
The massive hole emerged at Fontmell Close, on October 1, 2015.
Ben Bagshawe had hoped to move back with his wife and son but has not been able to due to an ongoing investigation that has shut off the road and some utilities.
Instead they’ve had to rent accommodation for the last 12 months, which has been supplied by their insurance company.
