Fairfield Library spared from axe - but another will close
 

A plan to save a much-loved library has been approved by Stockton Council’s Cabinet.
The move will see Fairfield Library, previously earmarked for closure, co-located with a children’s nursery.
The Cabinet approved the suggestion at a meeting at Stockton Central Library tonight.
Cllr Carol Clark put the plan forward as a way to save the library, while creating much-needed nursery spaces.
During a consultation process, a 3,217 name petition protesting at the possible closure of Fairfield was presented to council.
