Exhibition of architects' proposals for the new £18m GCR Main Line museum opens



Concepts for the Great Central Railway's proposed £18 million Main Line museum have gone on show to the public.
After being whittled down from 72 architectural designs, the final shortlist of six are on display at Greenacres, at Leicester North station, near Birstall, from tomorrow until Sunday.
The ambitious project was made possible thanks to a £10 million Heritage Lottery Fund grant - the largest ever given to a scheme in Leicester or Leicestershire.
It is being co-run by the GCR, Leicester City Council and the National Railway Museum (NRM).
